It has been a week since I returned from the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. For those of you who do not know of Findhorn, it is an intentional community based on spiritual common ground that was founded in 1962 and is thriving today with 300 members and growing. Anyone who wants to have anything to do with Findhorn must attend their Experience Week first, and now after taking part in it, I certainly know why. My original motivation, other than general curiosity about this successful spiritual community, was to explore the possibility of a workshop venue in connection with Findhorn. But after seventeen hours of travel and needing a full day to recover, I realized it was not a practical option for that, so I opened to discovering why I was really there. The Experience Week program was developed over thirty years ago and it has remained virtually the same because it is so effective in producing the results of heart-opening, attunement to the Findhorn principles that are based on inner listening and listening to Nature, and bonding of the group to form a supportive family-like unit that creates a safe environment for sharing, releasing and growth. Out of the seventeen in our group, eleven countries were represented, so it was also a great way to learn about the awakening spirituality and love of Mother Earth that is expanding and spreading globally. I now have an open invitation to come visit my new family members in Scotland, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, South Africa, France, Canada, England, The Netherlands and Australia. To me, this represents the dropping of borders and boundaries to allow the emergence of the united new world that is attuning to the higher vibrations of ascending Earth.
Since returning home, I have received a barrage of newsletters from various seers, profits, astrologers, and prognosticators, all speaking of big shifts that are occurring now, and I concur. In my book, I talk about the awakening consciousness that has been on an emergent outward path from Earth’s core since 1987 and how at some point it would come up against the restrictive band of mass consciousness that has accumulated a great deal of density from all the limiting structures that were formed by collective thoughts during the wandering-in-the-dark phase of evolution. That time is here and I am witnessing a fascinating process of breaking through the entangled, dark mess to allow the passage of Earth’s new streams of awakened consciousness. There is a team of what I can best describe as highly trained special forces that have infiltrated the dense layers and are diligently working to untangle the amassed, binding strands that have been blocking the flow of the emergent streams. The shifts, that are being reported by so many who are in touch with Earth energies, are a result of the first rays of these streams that are breaking through to the other side. Hallelujah! Earth’s updated/evolved programming is now being fed back into mass consciousness and is in the process of replacing the outdated forms that no longer serve the highest good.
What does this mean in practical terms? It means that much of the structure that has been supporting our world is starting to crumble under our feet. It means that governments that have been based on man’s law are collapsing so they will no longer be a source of support of any kind. It means that the lies of consumerism will become known and the pursuit of money will no longer be a goal. It means that economies based on consumerism will collapse. It means the collective Ego will loose its desire to have power over others and surrender to the leadership of the collective Heart. It also means that those who are too heavily invested in the lower vibrations of fear and oppression to be able to let go and be lifted up, will sink deeper into the quagmire of the old sludge that Mother Earth will receive and transmute, and they will perhaps become trees, as Barbara Hand Clow suggested at Harrison Hot Springs during her talk at the CSQ Spring Conference.
So, what next? This degree of fundamental change has the potential for striking fear in the ego mind that wants to maintain the status quo so that it can feel like it is in control and ready for what happens next. When I have shared my interpretation of the “handwriting on the wall” regarding imminent and comprehensive change, I can feel the discomfort, doubt and fear of the unknown come up. On a personal level, when I have talked to Vyto about how these changes are likely to play out in our lives in particular, he asks “So what are we supposed to do?” Until now, I had not yet had a clear picture to be able to answer him. Now that I have experienced the community life at Findhorn, I can clearly see viable alternatives to the consumerism way of life. And won’t we be amazed to discover that it is a rich and rewarding way to live that takes us far beyond what the material world had to offer!
The Findhorn lifestyle not only offers an environment of practical spirituality, it also demonstrates the viability of sustained self-containment. Alternative energy sources like windmills and solar batteries are in place and further research is moving them in the direction of being "off the grid" in the near future. All new houses that are built must be according to agreed upon “green” sustainable standards. The being-in-touch-with-Nature approach to gardening and cooperative cultivation of other food sources like chickens and goats, provides 85 percent of the community’s healthy food needs. Their waste goes into something called The Living Machine which converts sewage into pure water without the use of electricity or chemicals via a process of employing plants, enzymes and healthy bacteria. Their philosophy of "work is Love in action" turns the community into a very eager and willing work force to accomplish all necessary tasks. The leadership and management decides everything according to a process of consensus through attunement. The importance of inner listening through attunement to Divine Source and Nature provides a focus that encourages the expression and contribution of the individual while being in harmony with the highest good of the whole.
I see the Findhorn model to be a shining example of how the world can not only survive this transition, but actually thrive as people unite, care for each other and collectively create innovative solutions for living harmoniously with Mother Earth and her rich, renewable resources. Further research since returning home has revealed that there are literally hundreds of eco-villages cropping up all over the world and I know that the new streams of Earth’s evolved consciousness are supporting and expanding these concepts of cooperative living with each other and our planet. Instead of fearing the changes, it is time to let go of the crumbling old structures so we can embrace and help create the new practical and tangible Heaven on Earth where Peace and Love prevail!
